Fabrication Quality Coordinator
Summary
Kelson is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and quality-driven Fabrication Quality Coordinator to join our Sheet Metal Fabrication team. This position assumes responsibility for quality after fabrication drawings have been reviewed, coordinated, quality checked, and released by the BIM Department. From that point forward, you will oversee the quality of the fabrication process through production, inspection, packaging, shipping, documentation, and delivery readiness to ensure every product leaving our facility meets the highest standards of workmanship and quality. Working closely with the QA/QC Manager, Plant Manager, Production Scheduler, Shop Foremen, Shipping Department, BIM Department, Project Managers, and field personnel, you will help ensure that every piece of HVAC ductwork leaving our fabrication facility reflects Kelson's commitment to quality, precision, and continuous improvement. Our vision is to build and operate one of North America's premier HVAC sheet metal fabrication facilities, and this position is instrumental in helping us achieve that goal. Work Environment • Full-time, on-site position based in Sharon, Ontario. • Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. • Combination of office work and regular presence throughout the fabrication facility. • Frequent interaction with production personnel, management, shipping, project teams, and field operations. • Salary Range for this position: $85,000.00 to $115,000.00 Why Join Kelson? Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication Release Coordination
- Fabrication Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Standards & Compliance – Maintain a thorough understanding of industry standards & assist in continually improving Kelson’s quality standards
- Packaging, Picking & Shipping Quality
- Production Support -Work closely with fabrication personnel to build quality into every product
- Continuous Improvement -Recommend practical solutions that improve quality, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency
- Quality Management System – Support continued development of Kelson’s fabrication quality system
- Quality Metrics & Reporting – Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators & provide recommendations for continuous improvement based on measurable results
- Training & Collaboration - Support continuous improvement
Desired Skills & Experience
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC sheet metal fabrication processes
- Strong understanding of SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards
- Experience inspecting spiral duct, rectangular duct, oval duct, fittings, and specialty duct systems
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications
- Familiarity with modern sheet metal fabrication equipment and manufacturing processes
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and inspection procedures
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and fabrication management software such as FabShop
- A commitment to craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and manufacturing excellence
