Telus Tower and RBC Centre both pick up NAIOP REX awards!
A round of applause goes out to Cadillac Fairview, RBC Financial Group and RBC Dexia on receiving the "Green Award of the Year" for the RBC Centre, and Menkes and Telus on receiving the "Best Office Development" for the Telus Tower at 25 York. Both projects were singled out by NAIOP for their excellence at the 9th annual NAIOP REX Awards. Our warmest congratulations for having the foresight and vision to pursue innovation and creativity in office building design, resulting in two of the most significant office buildings built in Toronto in the last forty years.
Sweeny Sterling Finlayson & Co Architects is proud to have made a major contribution to both of these projects.
As published in the Globe and Mail article "Toronto buildings scoop up REX awards" originally posted on Friday, March 5, 2010: "Toronto's 43-storey RBC Centre took the green award of the year. The building's south and west-facing sides reveal sleek horizontal sunshades attached to the exterior glass facade, part of a state-of-the-art daylight harvesting system." "Best office development: The 30-storey glass Telus tower, at 25 York St., features 11-foot, floor-to-ceiling glass windows that offer better access to natural light, and individual workstation airflow and temperature controls."
