Ottawa Light Rail Transit - Maintenance and Storage Facility

The project consists of constructing two new buildings and rails on a 26 acre site. The first building was the Maintenance Facility which is used to maintain and repair LRT vehicles. The second building was the storage shed building which is a large, galvanized steel structure that houses the majority of the Confederation Line light rail vehicles (LRV).
Kelson mechanical highlights: Completed HVAC and plumbing and control systems, including a high efficiency exhaust air heat recovery system, a large high-pressure compressed air network, a service piping system, use of recycled water in train wash, underground oil piping, and a large Natural Gas piping system. Kelson was responsible for the complete mechanical construction and commissioning of the buildings. The project is LEED certification with 30% energy savings.
