Located at Canadian Forces Base Borden, this new 32,000-square-foot building will house the Canadian Forces School for Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CFSEME). The structure is two storeys plus a penthouse, and consolidates all the CFSEME’s organizational components, including classrooms and workshops.
Mechanical Systems
The building will be self-sustained, with independent heating and cooling systems. Kelson's mechanical scope includes the following work:
- Use expanded prefabrication methods (racking of mains) to improve schedule
- Use Trimble GPS technology to locate inserts and sleeves and determine the layout of underground piping
- Install storm water retention and geothermal systems as part of the LEED initiative
