University of Toronto Mississauga – North Building

The first phase of the multi-phase reconstruction of University of Toronto Mississauga's North Building included improvements to theatre rehearsal space, computer labs, classrooms, offices, study space, and the food services area. Two departments – Mathematical and Computational Sciences, and Psychology – have offices and research facilities in the renovated space.

Mechanical Systems

Kelson's scope of work on this Design-Build project included the following: Complete a new mechanical penthouse on the fifth floor, including the hoisting and placement of five new air handling units. Provide perimeter heating via radiant ceiling panels and in-floor heating. Connect to existing chilled water and heating water systems. Install new glycol heating system. Install new domestic water and new drainage systems. Work with subcontractors to provide associated piping and sheet metal insulation, ventilation ductwork, sprinklers, fire stopping and controls.
