Kellogg’s – Belleville
Completion: December 01, 2007
Kellogg’s is a global packaged foods manufacturer best known for a number of iconic breakfast cereals, including Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, and Special K. Its Belleville processing plant, completed in 2007, was the first new cereal manufacturing facility that Kellogg’s had built in North America in almost 20 years.
Kelson acted as the Design-Build mechanical contractor on this project under a Guaranteed Maximum Price contract. We successfully managed the construction of the entire building, from the underground building services to the commissioning of all mechanical equipment and systems. The project scope included the following systems:
- Two process steam boilers
- Two split system direct expansion chillers
- Two air-cooled air compressors
- Processed hot and cold water systems
- Natural gas utility system
- Base building and process HVAC systems
This project had a fast-track production schedule and was completed from start to finish on time in eight months, enabling Kellogg’s to meet their saleable food production deadlines.
