Mount Sinai Hospital – Women’s & Infants’ Fit Up
Completion: May 02, 2014
Total Construction Value: $120,000,000
Size: 214500 sq. ft.
Upon completion of the six-storey addition to Mount Sinai’s Murray Street wing, work began on the new shell. This project encompassed not only fit-up work, but also alterations to several floors of the hospital, related to a number of different healthcare services: in-patient programs, operating rooms, neonatal intensive care, and ambulatory care. A pharmacy, general office area, and generator room were also included in the project. In all, over 96,000 square feet were renovated.
Kelson has been involved in Mount Sinai projects for over 30 years and was the mechanical contractor for all phases of the six-storey addition, which required a variety of mechanical systems, including:
- Medical gas
- Plumbing and drainage
- Hydronic heating
- Fuel oil
Kelson installed the mechanical system that allowed compatibility with Enwave for the hospital’s expanding energy requirements.
